Chocolate conference

Situation

Chocolate Week is an annual festival celebrating the art, craft, and indulgence of chocolate. The event attracts passionate chocolate enthusiasts who attend workshops, lectures, tastings, and chocolate-related experiences. To create a memorable experience for this highly engaged audience, the festival needed a concept that captured the playful obsession many attendees share with chocolate.

Task

The goal was to develop a creative event concept and supporting experience that would engage attendees while reinforcing the fun, indulgent nature of the festival. The challenge was to create something that felt clever, immersive, and tailored specifically to serious chocolate lovers.

Action

I developed a tongue-in-cheek "Chocoholic Patient File" concept, transforming each attendee’s love of chocolate into a playful fictional diagnosis. The experience positioned guests as officially certified "Chocoholics" and included personalized-style materials such as diagnostic tests to determine the severity of their chocolate obsession, information about the "condition," profiles of festival speakers as "sponsors," and a chocolate "prescription" featuring a decadent sample.

Through the use of healthcare-inspired visual language combined with playful copywriting and chocolate-themed storytelling, I created a cohesive concept that turned a simple event takeaway into an interactive brand experience.

Result

The concept transformed the festival experience into something memorable, engaging, and shareable for attendees. By combining humour, storytelling, and thoughtful design, the project demonstrated how creative concepts can build stronger connections between an audience and an event.
